PURP CO (“PURP”, “we”, “us”) provides the PURP Driver mobile application
for iOS and Android (bundle/package ID com.purpco.driver), a business delivery and
proof-of-delivery tool used by employees of retailers that operate on the PURP platform. This
policy describes what the app collects, how it is used, and the choices you have. It applies
to the app only; the
purpco.com online store has its own privacy policy.
You use this app with a work account provisioned by your employer. For most information handled by the app, your employer (the retailer you work for) is the data controller and PURP processes the data on their behalf to run their delivery operations.
Location — prominent disclosure
Information the app collects
- Work account and identity — your name, work email address, employer and store assignment, sign-in credentials, and (if your employer requires multi-factor sign-in) the phone number used for verification codes.
- Precise location — as described in the prominent disclosure above.
- Camera and photos — proof-of-delivery and verification photos you capture in the app. The app only processes images you take or attach yourself.
- Delivery activity — routes, stops, timestamps, delivery outcomes, checklist responses, and notes you enter while working.
- Device and diagnostics — device model and OS version, app version, network state, push-notification token, and crash/performance telemetry used to keep the app reliable.
What we do not do
- No advertising and no third-party advertising SDKs.
- We do not sell personal information.
- No data is shared with third parties for their own marketing.
How information is used
- Operating dispatch and deliveries: routing, tracking, proof of delivery, and return-to-store confirmation.
- Delivery record-keeping: delivery evidence your employer needs to retain for operational and legal purposes.
- Safety, security, and service integrity: authentication, device attestation, fraud and abuse prevention.
- Support and troubleshooting, using diagnostics and crash reports.
Sharing
- Your employer — delivery activity, location during shifts, and proof-of-delivery records are visible to your employer’s authorized staff.
- Service providers — infrastructure suppliers that host and run the platform on our behalf (including Google Cloud / Firebase for hosting, authentication, and push notifications, and mapping services for routing). They process data under contract and only as instructed.
- Legal requirements — where disclosure is required by law or for your employer’s delivery record-keeping obligations.
Retention and security
Records are retained as long as needed for your employer’s operational and legal record-keeping obligations, then deleted or de-identified under the platform’s retention schedules. Data is encrypted in transit, access is scoped to your employer’s tenant, and administrative access is audited.
Your choices
- You can control location, camera, and notification permissions in your device settings. Without location access, live dispatch tracking and location-based navigation may not work. Your employer decides whether missing location blocks an ordinary delivery confirmation; attempted-delivery confirmation still requires photo and location evidence.
- For questions about your employment data, account changes, or deletion, contact your employer’s administrator — or contact us and we will route the request.
- Depending on where you live (for example under Canada’s PIPEDA), you may have rights to access or correct your personal information. Contact us to exercise them.
